Artedea-Bohemiarte School was born in 2015 from the merger of Artedea (founded in 2015) and Bohemiarte (founded in 2000), created by artists Irena Korosec and Jane Arnot Kavanagh. In 2020, Artedea-Bohemiarte decided to specialise in the individual apprenticeship program for traditional painting techniques by Old Masters, including gilding and restoration for advanced students only, while entering a reference partnership with Académie des Beaux-Arts de Montréal — ACADEM for the basic classical academic painting instructions. Moreover, Irena Korosec joined the ACADEM team of teachers, dividing her time between the two schools.

Jane Arnot Kavanagh co-founded Bohemiarte in 2000 and spent two decades teaching classical drawing, gilding, and restoration with extraordinary dedication and grace. Her warmth, precision, and deep love for the craft left a lasting impression on every student she guided. She was not only a gifted teacher but a true artist — and a generous soul who helped shape this school into what it is today. We are profoundly grateful for everything she brought to Artedea-Bohemiarte. Her legacy lives on in the work of all who had the privilege of learning from her.
